Realizing the growing need for education in STEM-related fields of study (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), engineers from Koch Industries have stepped up in different ways, including hosting a workshop specifically targeted at reaching young girls interested in STEM and sponsoring a Girls in Science Festival in Iowa for the past four years.

Kid inventors shine at national competition
Koch Industries recently sponsored the STEMIE Coalition’s annual National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo (NICEE), where students from all over the country pitched their inventions to a panel of judges – including 10-year-old Claire Rhodes, who won the Koch Most Visionary Award for developing a hand sanitizer dispenser that fits into a toilet’s flush handle.

Koch’s nitrification inhibitor technology receives EPA approval
CENTURO, an all-new nitrification inhibitor from Koch Agronomic Services, recently received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to begin public sales, also making it the first nitrification inhibitor in more than 40 years to receive registration from the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
